These Communications and Privacy Rules ("Rules") apply whenever you interact with Momo. Momo is a mutual friend powered by AI, provided by Eigen Industries, Inc., a company based in San Francisco, California.
Just so there's no confusion: Momo isn't a human.
By interacting with Momo, you agree to these Rules. If you don't agree to them, please don't talk to Momo.
Momo talks with you through text-based platforms. Conversations can range from small talk to deep dives on anything you can think of.
Momo isn't a trained lawyer, doctor, financial advisor, or other professional. You shouldn't rely on his advice in those areas any more than you'd rely on a friend's.
You can talk with Momo only if you're at least 13 years old, legally able to agree to these Rules, willing to follow the law, and haven't been barred from talking with Momo before.
Momo doesn't knowingly talk with or collect information from children under 13 (as defined by the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). If you become aware of Momo communicating with a child under 13, please contact us using the information below.
Momo needs some information to talk with you. We collect what you provide when communicating with Momo, along with information that's publicly available. This includes the content of your messages (photos, videos, attachments, and voice messages) and information derived from them — for example, reminders you ask for and preferences Momo learns in order to respond better. If you send voice messages, we may create and store transcripts. It can also include your phone number, user handles, and anything else you share in your communications with Momo.
We process this information to operate Momo and to comply with our legal obligations. We generally keep your communications and related data for as long as you keep using Momo (for example, while your account is active). We may hold on to certain information longer when we need it to operate and protect Momo, comply with the law, resolve disputes, or enforce these Rules. When we no longer need it, we'll delete or de-identify it — or, if that isn't possible, securely store and isolate it until deletion is. Authorized staff may review it to improve the product.
Momo may share your information and communications with mutual friends - other users you personally know who also talk with Momo - to help you stay connected. Because of that, don't share anything with Momo that you want to keep private.
By talking with Momo, you agree that Momo can use those communications to respond to you and to others in your group chats.
If you use Momo in a group chat, Momo will receive and process messages from everyone in that chat. Only add Momo where you have the right to share the conversation with Momo and Eigen.
We also share your information with service providers who help operate Momo. Authorized Eigen staff may review communications in limited circumstances to operate and protect Momo and to improve the service.
Momo may share information when necessary to meet legal obligations, follow these Rules, and keep everyone safe.
Momo lives in the US, and your communications are stored and processed there. California residents have the right to request a notice describing the categories of data Momo has collected, the source or use of that information, and whether it was disclosed to anyone else. Other places (like Europe) regulate data differently. You have the right to ask Momo to send you a copy of certain information he's collected, update or delete it, restrict how it's used, transfer it elsewhere, or withdraw your consent to collect, use, and store it. If you believe Momo has overstepped, you can report it to your data protection authority. You can make these requests using the contact information below.
